  1. Que tal. Me llamo Felipe Ramirez. Soy estudiante en UTA y pienso ir a cuernavaca ente verano 2010. Hace mucho tiempo que no voy a Mexico y quiero viajar para conocer y aprender mas de la cultura mexicana.

My name is Felipe Ramirez. I’m currently enrolled in a Spanish major at UTA and I’m looking forward to go to Mexcio and learn more about the culture and the language. I’ll see you in the summer. Hasta luego.

  2. Hi there. I am Professor Ray Elliott and I’m originally from a small town called East Liverpool, Ohio. I came to the DFW 18 years ago when I got my job at UT-Arlington. One of the best parts of my job is getting to teach and having contact with university students. I have lived in Colombia, Spain, Mexico and have traveled throughout Latin America and Europe. The first year that I went to the Spanish Language Institute in Cuernavaca, Mexico I took 18 UTA students with me and the group has grown little-by-little every year. We had a wonderful time at the Institute, meeting the new faculty members, taking classes and going on excursions throughout Mexico. I like to play guitar, do video editing, and photography. I used to have a salt water aquarium and although it was beautiful, it got to be too much work. I’m looking forward to taking another group of students during the second summer session and getting to know each and every one of you much better when we get to Mexico. Hopefully you will enjoy your time living abroad and will get the most out of this life altering experience.

Hola!

  7. Hola! Me llamo Susan Hyde. Soy estudiante de Trabajo Social. Estoy muy emocionado acerca de estudiar en Cuernavaca! I have only had two semesters of Spanish, so my knowledge is very basic and speaking is very difficult for me. This is why I want to study in Cuernavaca, so I can focus more on speaking skills since lower level UTA classes do not include much conversation. This fall I will begin a social work internship working with a 60% Hispanic caseload, so it is important that I make the leap to speaking Spanish this summer!

I like spending time with friends, hiking, camping, kayaking, and sailing. I love to travel and have visited Germany, Italy, France, Ireland, the Caribbean, and Mexico. I look forward to meeting each of you and sharing this adventure!
